By Jessi Stickel on May 28, 2016

As college students, we are constantly under a lot of stress with papers, projects and final exams. Most college students are financially stressed as well, which leads us to get part-time jobs during the summer and even during the semester.

Since we undergo so much stress with college courses, it is better to have a less stressful part-time job.

Here are 10 of the least stressful part-time jobs for college students.

1. Hair stylist/assistant

If you have the skills and certification to be a hairdresser, it is a great part-time job that is low on stress. You can bring home a lot of money in tips and get to talk to customers all day long. Many people look to their hairdresser to talk about their problems, almost as a therapist in a way. This can be interesting and makes the time go by super fast.

2. Librarian/assistant

Not only are college students avoiding a stressful job by working at a library, but they also benefit as students. When you know the ins and outs of the library, including online databases for research, you can use those resources when completing a paper or project for class.

3. Yoga instructor

Doing yoga is known to be a great stress reliever for anyone, so instructing yoga classes as a job could possibly be the most non-stressful job out there. Another benefit from yoga is muscle building and weight loss as well.

College students with years of yoga experience should apply for a yoga instructing position; this part-time job would be great during the summer and the fall and spring semesters.

4. Dog walker/sitter

What is less stressful than playing with puppies and dogs all day? Many dog owners that work long hours need someone willing to walk and/or babysit their dogs in the morning, evening or during the day.

This flexible schedule can be great for college students; you can go walk a dog or two when you have a longer break in between classes or before and after your school day. Dog walkers/sitters also get paid a good amount when they are difficult to find or request odd hours.

If you are a dog and/or animal lover, a dog walking or sitting position may be the non-stressful part-time job for you.

5. Toll collector

If you ever traveled the country by car or went over a bridge, you have probably paid a toll fee to a toll collector (if you do not have an E-ZPass). Well if you don’t mind being a bit bored, being a toll collector for the summer could be a great job for you.

Since you would be employed by the government, you will make good money and more importantly, not be stressed out. The most you will probably go through in a day’s work is when people want to pay $6 in coins.

When you first think of having the duties of being a lifeguard (saving lives), you may think this particular job would be extremely stressful, but lifeguards spend the majority of their time waiting around for something to happen at less busy pools.

There are also a lot of perks of being a lifeguard, such as getting paid to get a tan and having the entire pool to only you and your coworkers before and after hours.

7. Personal trainer

Being employed by a gym as a personal trainer is far from stressful, and can even be stress relieving. Working out is a big stress reliever for many people, so if you are working out and encouraging others to push their limits, you may find yourself feeling great after work.

Personal trainers are also in high demand and get paid fairly decent. This would be a great summer job for the gym obsessed college students.

This job can work for college students during the summer or weekends during the semester.

9. Clubhouse associate

Clubhouses that have sports activities, along with childcare, can also be a non-stressful job for college students to have. You can work after business hours and get to play sports and games with kids. This job can also be great for the students who seem to never have time to fit exercise into their busy schedules. Some find working with kids fun as well.
